Westminster-Canterbury has partnered with Virginia Wesleyan University to bring a new wave of intellectual fulfillment to our beachfront Life Plan community. The Westminster-Canterbury Lifelong Learning Institute offers classes and activities at both Virginia Wesleyan’s campus and Westminster-Canterbury.
On the VWU campus:
Residents can audit all undergraduate classes and lectures, including:
- Art
- History
- Political Science
- Psychology
- Popular Culture
- Religion
- and more
Residents may also attend concerts, plays, lectures and sporting events at Virginia Wesleyan—at no charge. (Note: Post-season NCAA tournament games require admission fees.)
On our campus:
Sixty-four fascinating mini-courses will be offered each year at Westminster-Canterbury, coordinated by Virginia Wesleyan professor Dr. Ben Fraser, the Westminster-Canterbury Fellow for Religious Studies and Lifelong Learning. Course topics include history, art, political science, religious studies, culture and journalism, among others. In addition, residents may attend Interfaith Dialogues on a variety of current topics, as well as field trips to local museums accompanied by timely discussions.
